What's new on the shelves?

ice cream

Fairtrade Vanilla Ice Cream is amongst Ben & Jerry's most popular ice creams, so look out for the new Fairtrade Vanilla Toffee Crunch flavour as it hits the freezers in your nearest store. More and more outlets are switching to Fairtrade tea and coffee, including RoadChef motorway coffee shops and Eurostar - for all your travel needs! If you are after something a bit stronger, Threshers launched a range of Fairtrade wines during Fairtrade Fortnight which are now available in over 1,000 stores. Check out the full product list on our website.

Black Gold Film Release

Black gold

Black Gold is a film about the injustices of the global coffee trade which takes the audience on a journey from the birthplace of coffee - Ethiopia - to the coffee shops of Seattle, via World Trade Organisation talks in Cancun and the New York Coffee Exchange. It is being released nationwide on 8 June. Find more details about the film and where it is showing here. It is also part of the London Fairtrade Campaign Film Festival which is on in the capital until 27 June. More details here.

It's not too late to make your voice heard...
    Bubble

The leaders of the G8 - the world's richest nations - gather in Germany next week. In 2000, the United Nations set the eight Millenium Development Goals to meet the needs of the world's poorest people, including halving extreme poverty. This summit is historic, because it marks the half-way point to the target date of 2015 for meeting the goals. However, unless the rich nations take more decisive action we will fail to meet the goals and fail those in poverty. Join a massive gathering on the banks of the River Thames this Saturday 2 June to give Tony Blair a good send-off as he heads for Germany. If you can't be there, make your voice heard by emailing German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
