Recycle & Raise Funds
Posted on Friday, October 27, 2006 @ 09:44:58 UTC by admin
You can now recycle empty inkjet and laser cartridges as well as old mobile phones at Save the Children shops. Recycling these items helps the environment whilst raising funds for Save the Children?s work with vulnerable children

. Every ink cartridge raises £1 and a single mobile phone can raise up to £50 ? enough to buy feeding milk for 15 babies suffering from severe malnutrition in East Africa.

Sally Brighton, Save the Children?s Director of Community Giving, recently popped in to the Clapham shop to donate her empty ink cartridges and said ?I am delighted that we are offering an environmentally friendly service in our shops that also raises vital funds for our work".

Save the Children?s has set this new initiative up with Environmental Business Products (EBP). Angela Wiseman, Head of Collections for EBP said, "We have worked alongside Save the Children for several years now, and are extremely pleased to help develop its fundraising by increasing the number of cartridges that we recycle - more cartridges means more money for the children."

You can donate your empty ink cartridges or old mobile phones at your local Save the Children shop. If you cannot make it into a shop you can request a freepost envelope or arrange a collection by contacting EBP on 0800 435 576 or at stcbags@inkagain.co.uk.

For a full list of the types of ink/laser cartridge or mobile phones that can be recycled please click here A new window will open showing the contents of a .pdf file (Just close the opened window to return here).
