In 2007 Frances of Preston (fundraising) branch visited Save the Children feeding centres in the Zinder region of southern Niger, where hundreds of thousands of families were still struggling with the after-effects of a severe drought in 2005.
Sadly, 3 years on from Frances's visit drought has once more returned and almost 400,000 children are at risk of starvation.
