| This is part of the Malaria
education programme at Simatetele primary school. One of the masters is showing
us the overflow from the school's water pump which is a breeding ground for the
mosquito larvae. Children from the school wear protective clothing to spray these swampy areas. ( Save the children supply the clothing & insecticide ) Malaria is particularly bad this year (2000) due to well above average rainfall & the cyclone from Mozambique which faded out over N. Zimbabwe & Zambia. |
