Sudan - Questions & Answers

A School for displaced children
Pupils in a school for displaced people in Sudan, the biggest country in Africa.

People are displaced when they are forced, often by war or famine, to leave home and move to another part of their country. In Sudan, around three million people have been displaced in this way. Many families depend on emergency relief to survive.

Save the Children helps to bring health care, emergency food and medicines to both displaced and settled communities. Long-term work, which aims to bring about lasting change, includes helping families to stand on their own feet. For example, a goat loan project provides families with milk, meat and extra income.
