This photograph shows a one parent family - the woman is the only breadwinner of this family of seven children. Their father her husband died of hunger before SCF began its food distribution in their area. This family is one several families which have benefited from SCF's food distribution in the areas between Bong, Upper Margibi and Grand Bassa counties.

A nutritional survey carried out by SCF revealed that a general food distribution linked to seed rice and tools will help to alleviate the present large-scale malnutrition in the area.

Since SCF began its food distribution programme over 100,000 displaced people have benefited from its supply of rice and rice seeds.
