All Hands to the Pump

Young people fetch water at a village pump in Orissa, eastern India. Clean water for drinking and washing is very important for family health. Dirty water carries diseases which kill 15,000 children every day in the developing world. But families often have to take dirty water from ponds and rivers used by animals. Save the Children helps pay for wells, pumps and water filter plants that supply Indian families with clean water. It funds Indian organisations which also provide health care, education and training
