An Afghan girl reads the alphabet in an English at Nahre Balla School in Shomali Plains, Afghanistan. About 581 boys and 192 girls attend the school from grade 1 to 9. Save the Children have funded the school. There is no female teacher in the school, and some girls have left the school because of lack of separate classes and the lack of female teachers.
